Gem Archer, the versatile guitarist associated with Oasis, Beady Eye, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, is most often seen with the Epiphone SheratonTM, which was gifted to him by Noel Gallagher. Now, Epiphone proudly presents the Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheratona new artist model based on the original Sheraton that Gem still regularly uses. The Sheraton is an original Epiphone design that was first introduced in 1958. This hollow body guitar, with its distinctive and elegant styling, represents the highest standards of craftsmanship and components used.
The Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheraton in Cherry Red is built to the same standards as Inspired by Gibson Custom models and includes the same etched double diamond on the headstock that can be found on those instruments. The Masterbilt Gem Archer Sheraton features a body made of five layers of maple and poplar in a hollow body style, with a maple center block that improves sustain and reduces feedback. The top and back of the body, as well as the headstock and fingerboard, are adorned with multi-ply binding.
The one-piece mahogany neck has a comfortable 60s C profile and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets and adorned with attractive mother-of-pearl block and triangle inlays. The large Dovewing headstock in 60s style features the historic Epiphone logo and a Tree of Life inlay made of mother-of-pearl. All of the hardware on this Sheraton is gold.
The headstock is equipped with smoothly operating Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines with Milk Bottle buttons, which, along with the GraphTech® nut, help keep the guitar solidly in tune. The ABR-1 bridge and CasinoTM-style raised diamond trapeze tailpiece highlight the style and elegance. The high-quality electronics consist of a pair of USA-made Gibson Mini HumbuckerTM pickups paired with individual volume and tone controls that utilize high-quality CTS® potentiometers and MalloryTM capacitors, routed through a Switchcraft® three-way pickup selector toggle switch and a 1/4 output jack.
Available in both right and left-handed versions, an Epiphone hardshell case completes the package and helps keep this beautiful guitar safe when you’re traveling to your next performance.
