Designed with students in mind, it featured a minimalist approach, lacking a carved maple top, binding, and a second pickup, significantly lowering its price.
In 1955, the Les Paul Special was introduced as an upgraded version of the Junior, adding an extra pickup and a set of controls. Don’t be fooled by its modest appearance; this guitar delivers a wide range of tones thanks to its two Soapbar P-90 pickups.
